Trip Report: Colombian Safari at Hato La Aurora

We have successfully completed our Colombian Safari tour at Hato La Aurora from September 26 to October 2, 2024, where our client from the United States experienced the remarkable biodiversity of Colombia’s Eastern Plains. At Ocampo Expeditions, we specialize in birdwatching and wildlife tourism, striving to provide memorable experiences that showcase the incredible wildlife and rich culture this region has to offer.

Wildlife Encounters

Throughout the tour, our client had the opportunity to witness impressive species such as the Orinoco Crocodile, giant anteaters, howler monkeys, white-tailed deer, and capybaras. The area is home to an astonishing array of bird species, including the majestic Jabiru and the vibrant Scarlet Ibis. While sightings of the elusive jaguar are always a possibility in this region, it remained out of sight during this particular adventure, adding to the mystique of the Llanos.

Cultural Immersion

In addition to wildlife encounters, our tours offer guests a chance to immerse themselves in the local culture and gastronomy. Visitors can savor traditional dishes and learn about the customs of the communities in the area, enriching their overall experience in the Eastern Plains.

Commitment to Conservation

Our dedication to sustainable tourism and conservation ensures that each guest not only enjoys the beauty of Colombia’s wildlife but also learns about the ecosystems that support these species. Hato La Aurora is a true sanctuary for wildlife, allowing visitors to connect with nature and gain a deeper appreciation for the unique environment of the region.

We are thrilled that our client left with unforgettable memories, and we look forward to welcoming more adventurers to experience the wonders of the Llanos with Ocampo Expeditions.
